Making the old NEW!

We've been trying to keep busy while Zoe battled a cold this week. Today, feeling a little better, we took on the fun task of painting the toybox that my brother and I stored all our precious toys in. It was saved and given to me with my toys from I was little. It's been awhile in my deciding what to do with this toybox. Recently I repainted it, and then asked Zoe to help decorate it, making it her toybox to put her toys into. (some of those toys were mine that she plays with)! We both really liked doing this together, and it was a special time for us. Who knows, maybe if it lasts another 20yrs. +, Zoe can give it to her child(ren).
This is the almost finished product, we didn't quite finish the front - need one more handprint, I think. Zoe had enough with this for today, and I was happy with that, for now. I know she won't pass up the chance to paint some more.

What a great thing to pass on to your little girl! And how cool that she was able to decorate it with you! I know 2 little turkeys in my house who would LOVE to do something like that and be allowed to paint/colour on a piece of furniture!

Bean had a toy box on wheels with a padded top, it was built by Dad as a wood box originally, til babies came along. I finally got rid of it last year, as it was quite large, never thought of letting the girls paint it while here!

Great work Zoe!
