"The Easter bunny came here"
Although we told Zoe that the Easter bunny was coming to leave treats and presents while she slept, she was still pretty surprised when she opened her bedroom door to find a VW bug basket full of goodies. She got down to business right away, and didn't hesitate in opening a little chocolate bunny, and mouwing down.
Chocolate, the new breakfast for champions? or 3 year olds, in Zoe's book, anyway. She checked out her loot, and ate more chocolate...
...until we told her that the Easter bunny left chocolate bunnies all over the living room, and then the game of "oh bunnies, where are you" was on...it didn't take long, and she had found them all.
The best part, well a close second to the chocolate, was that the Easter bunny left a very much loved brother and sister in her doll stroller, MAX AND RUBY ( or MAX 'n' BUBY, as Zoe says it, that is so hard to not laugh at). They were quickly introduced to every toy she owns, story she's heard, songs she loves, and fed, put to bed, and then neglected for another dose of chocolate. They are a huge hit, and were carried around all day...and of course, are sleeping right beside her in her bed. We've been getting Max and Ruby books from the library, and I'd say that "Max's chocolate chicken" is a favourite story, along with "Max cleans up".
...the Easter bunny wasn't the only visitor over night. Allison, was in town, so she spent the night, it was a great gab session. Al treated us girls to a Easter breaky & coffee, bacon, eggs, & toast, it was yummy. Hopefully she moves back here soon....as it is supposed to happen.
We talked to Grandma & Papa on the phone, Zoe promptly told them both that the "Easter bunny came here", along with some other stories to share, it was really cute.
We headed out for a truck ride with Zoe and of course, Max and Ruby.
Even though it was raining, we wanted to go out on the back roads and check out the scenery. We had a little snack packed....and took a short walk in the forest, while the rain stopped for about 1/2 an hour or so. There was even some sun. It felt really good to be outside, it's so beautiful out there, everything is so green, quiet, and fresh.
We looked for "Bambi", and the Easter bunny, or at least for where he could live. Al saw a deer while we were driving, but it heard our truck coming, and ran away before we all could see it.
I'll leave you a couple more pictures from our outing today, I was camera happy, it's just so pretty, of course the camera doesn't do it justice, you can't the hear the trees creaking or the water running in little creeks, the air moving, the crunch of the moss, leaves, sticks under your feet as you walk, and the peacefullness that you feel.... a picture just can't capture what you feel in your soul out there. Zoe LOVES it out there, that makes us so happy, because we plan on doing that alot more, and going camping tons this summer.

We wish you more happiness in your heart,
and a new spring in your step...HAPPY EASTER!!

It appears the Easter Bunny was very good to Zoe... Awesome! And yes, chocolate is a very "normal" breakfast for a 3 year old... hahaha (it was this Easter Sunday anyway).
