Snow!...it's snow joke!!
I know, my title is soooo corny, what can I say, that's me...
The day started out with a possible visit from Al's parents and sisters...but the weather held them back. Al's dad flies a Piper cherokee turbo plane ( it's a 4 seater - in case you aren't familiar with the name), and wasn't comfortable with the upcoming forecast and it was quite windy where they live. So maybe next weekend. We haven't seen them for a long time, and we know Zoe would be very excited to see them.
So we made other plans to have friends over, but they didn't pan out either. Zoe's friend, Ashley, took a unexpected nap, after a long night 'partying' and sleeping over at her grandparents' house. So we postponed our visit until tomorrow.
It snowed here, if you can believe it. And it's still snowing. I love the snow, how it smells, looks, feels, and sounds. I have great memories of playing in the snow, we had lots of it when we lived in Quesnel, William's Lake, Prince George, and Kelowna.
We went out to play in the snow...no we didn't build a snowman, not enough for that. But the snow was falling, so we stuck out our tongues to catch snow flakes, and laid on the grass to let it land on our faces. Going down Zoe's 5ft. slide, in your rain pants is really great, you go super fast. Zoe looked pretty surprised the first slide as she landed with big thump on her little bum, then she laughed and went back for more. It sure is strange to see snow falling, while my tulips and crocuses are about to bloom, they must be so confused. Do we bloom or what?
After playing in the snow, we enjoyed our tea and chocolates. Watched the olympic speed skating, I'm sad to see the olympics coming to an end. I really loved cheering for Canada, and feeling canadian pride each time someone did their best, winning a medal or not, it was great to see, and I shed a few happy tears for them too, of course, I'm such a sap. I have to say, besides the hockey, speed skating and snowboarding halfpipe were favourite events for 2006. I look forward to 2010, who knows maybe we'll get to go and see some of it in person.
