Haywire Bay

Here are the pictures, as promised, from our long weekend camping trip. We ended up not going to Lund, which was our original plan...our friend got called away for work so we camped with some other friends out at Haywire Bay. This was the first weekend it was open, and I think everyone from town was there...and we squeezed in as many trailers as we could into our campsite. Our site was a double site with our 19' trailer and 3 other 26-28' 5th wheel trailers, plus a few tents. A friend came to visit our site, they were camping with 3 smaller trailers and one camper in a double site too, and she called our site the "hippy village". I didn't think of it that way until she said something, but now I know it did kinda look like that. Al provided bubble entertainment for awhile, we also have a HUGE bubble blower which I'm positive Al had an equal amount of fun with, as well as the crowd it drew...talk about a bubble juice guzzler though. Almost as bad as our truck. Thankfully bubble juice is way cheaper than gas. :)
We had gorgeous, hot, sunny weather (a total switch from last year this time). Temps from 26.5 degrees to 31 degrees. The water was warm, and the beach was packed. In the pictures, there seems to be nobody else at the beach, (not sure how that happened), but the noise level was high with kids going bananas in the water, and adults lounging and chatting on the beach.
Max and Ruby made the trip, and Zoe shared a little one on one with them while listening to Dora stories. Thank goodness for inverters in trailers when camping without electric hook-ups.
Almost every campsite was donned with a Canadian flag of some sort, all different sizes. Celebrations were in full effect for the long weekend, most campers shut er down around 11pm, and sat around the campfires more quietly. It was great to see that people were respecting the rules, and keeping the peace, while having a good time. Keeping a 3 year old entertained while camping is a whole new ball game, but we had lots of activities to keep Zoe going. As I mentioned earlier about our friends that couldn't come camping at the last minute, while Ken had to leave town for work, Kate and the kids came to play at the campsite with us. Here is Zoe and Ally, with a shared Max and Ruby, listening to music, and they decided to lay in our bed....although the windows were open, it was muggy in the trailer, I really couldn't watch them do this for long, although they insisted they weren't hot.At last, a picture of the "hippy village". This was around the time that the chairs got moved to sit around the campfire and the kids are in bed...and then a few drinks, story telling, and more good times with our friends.
