Me, Myself, and I

It was 33.5hrs of just that...

For the first time ever, I went away by myself, without Zoe. I wasn't sure how I would feel, but as soon as I boarded the ferry, and started reading my book while sittin in the sun...I soon realized that it was AWESOME and I was going to be fine.
I was off to visit my friend, Ally, who moved away, that's seems to be the latest trend here, 5 friends in the last year :(

My Destination: Port Alberni
(approx. 80 minutes ferry ride and 80 minutes driving time from here)

1) my tunes, playing loud, and me groovin' and singing along
2) stop at first Tim Horton's and get an English Toffee for the road
3) oh yeah, that's all, hehehe, I only have to worry about ME!!

The largest tree in Cathedral Grove: Douglas-fir 76m high, 9-feet diameter and 9m in circumference!

Upon my arrival, margaritas were served, along with a variety of appy's. Later, after a nature walk, and a tour of Port Alberni, we soaked in the hot tub. Even though the sun was scorching all day, the hot tub still felt really good. In the morning, Steve, Ally's boyfriend, treated us to coffee and French toast. Ally and I hit some stores that we are lacking here, and pretty soon, after a leisurely late lunch in their backyard, I was on the road again, headed back home. It was great to see where Ally is living now, and catch up, :) girl talk.

Al and Zoe had a great weekend, spent alot of quality time together, hangin out and visiting friends.
I have no pictures of my weekend, I left the camera at home, thinking Al would take pictures of Zoe and their weekend, but that didn't happen either. We are a good pair.

Lately we've been enjoying the sun, hot weather, cool pool and water toys. Looks like summer is here, hurray!
We are camping this long weekend with our friends, hopefully we'll remember to take some pictures.

Good for you Robyn, a nice excursion along my favourite road because it leads me to Tofino!

Have a great camping weekend, and yes, please take pictures....

I know how it feels to have no kid to think about for the first time!! I remember still looking in the back seat for Calli, or thinking I'd better turn the music down a bit, so she can sleep.... Too funny! It's a great feeling to be alone and free, and just as nice to see your little girl again!!
Glad you did it and enjoyed it!

Congratulations... on a much needed break!

Every mom needs a couple of those get-a-ways per year just to keep sane. Glad to hear you had a nice time!!
